Here is the first look at some of my new music. This is a version of one of the songs that's going to be on my EP, that's coming out in a couple weeks. The final version is going to have completely different drums and an overall different mix. The vocals are provided by the awesome Lion, ROAR!

Ice Cream Social - Fathoms + Remixage

I met Sam (Ice Cream Social) through our mutual friend Devin (Lion, Roar!). I started checking out his blog, and listening to the songs he posted as he made them. They caught my ear, but it wasn't until after I finally talked him into sending me his full album that I truly recognized his genius.

Fathoms is 13 minutes and 24 seconds of pure music magic. A fully realized instrumental concept album (which is no small feat). I offered my services as a designer and ended up doing the artwork for the album. I did the world map (above) and cover (below). Now check out the album:

Nosaj Thing

I just went and saw the Magical Properties Tour this weekend with Daedelus, Jogger and Nosaj Thing. The show was amazing, and I highly recommend checking it out if it comes to your area. While they were all great, I really dug the shit out Nosaj thing. My bud Devin (aka Lion, ROAR!) turned me onto him a couple weeks ago, and I've haven't stopped listening to him since.

The really interesting thing about him was that on his album everything seems pretty slow and laid back, but live me makes his stuff insanely danceable. I also love how his music sounds so dense and sparse at the same time. His music is definitely influencing the new remix I'm working on, and it definately shares some traits with the new music I'm making.

Here are some tracks. One is the song he produced for the rapper Nocando, and the other is off his debut album drift.
